Beyond Performance Tuning

Custom Automotive Work & Service Agreement

Welcome to Beyond Performance Tuning.

Custom automotive work is different from standard factory repairs. Performance upgrades, aftermarket parts, fabrication, older vehicles, and previously modified vehicles can involve unexpected delays, additional labor, and hidden issues that may not be visible until work begins.

This agreement helps clearly explain the process so expectations are understood by both the customer and the shop.

Understanding Custom Automotive Work

Customer understands that custom and aftermarket automotive work often requires additional labor, fabrication, troubleshooting, tuning, or adjustments beyond the original estimate.

Unlike factory-installed systems, aftermarket parts and modified vehicles may not fit or function exactly as expected.

Labor estimates are estimates only and may change if additional issues are discovered during the repair or installation process.

Beyond Performance Tuning will make reasonable efforts to communicate major changes whenever possible.

Older Vehicles, Rust, & Previously Modified Vehicles

Older vehicles, modified vehicles, and vehicles previously repaired by other shops commonly require additional labor time due to vehicle condition.

Examples include:

  • Rusted or seized bolts
  • Broken or stripped hardware
  • Corrosion
  • Previous incorrect repairs
  • Hidden damage
  • Missing hardware
  • Poor-quality aftermarket parts
  • Damaged wiring or connectors

These conditions are common in custom automotive work and may increase labor time beyond the original estimate.

Customer authorizes additional labor charges required to safely complete the work.

Existing Parts & Components

During disassembly or installation, existing parts on the vehicle may be found to be worn, damaged, brittle, leaking, rusted, stripped, or otherwise unsuitable for reuse.

In custom automotive work, it is also common for older components to fail or break during removal or installation without negligence by the technician. This is especially common with:

  • Old plastic components
  • Rusted hardware
  • Electrical connectors
  • Vacuum lines and hoses
  • Clamps and fittings
  • Sensors
  • Wiring
  • Seized bolts or studs

If existing components must be replaced in order to properly and safely complete the installation, the customer agrees to pay for the required replacement parts and labor.

Beyond Performance Tuning will not reinstall known damaged or unsafe components solely to avoid additional cost.

Customer-Supplied Parts

Customers may supply their own parts; however:

  • Beyond Performance Tuning provides NO warranty on customer-supplied parts
  • The customer is responsible for verifying proper fitment and compatibility
  • Additional labor caused by incorrect, defective, delayed, or missing parts will be billed accordingly

If incorrect parts require partial or complete reinstallation of components, the customer is responsible for all additional labor involved.

Changes to the Build After Work Begins

If the customer changes the build, requests different parts, cancels work, or decides not to continue after work has already started:

  • The customer is responsible for all labor completed up to that point
  • Deposits remain non-refundable
  • Additional labor required to disassemble or reconfigure completed work will be billed accordingly

Returned or exchanged parts requested by the customer are subject to a 10% restocking and handling fee.

Vehicle Downtime & Delays

Custom automotive work may require additional time due to:

  • Waiting on parts
  • Shipping delays
  • Fabrication time
  • Machine shop delays
  • Hidden damage
  • Additional troubleshooting
  • Broken or seized hardware

Estimated completion dates are estimates only and may change depending on vehicle condition and parts availability.

Performance & Modified Vehicle Risks

Performance and aftermarket modifications may:

  • Increase stress on engine and drivetrain components
  • Affect reliability and drivability
  • Void manufacturer warranties
  • Affect emissions compliance
  • Require additional maintenance

Beyond Performance Tuning does not guarantee the lifespan of modified or high-performance components.

Customer Responsibilities After Service

Certain repairs and performance upgrades may require follow-up maintenance or supporting repairs after installation.

Customer agrees to follow all recommended instructions, including but not limited to:

  • Oil changes after break-in periods
  • Alignments
  • Fluid checks
  • Retorquing components
  • Recommended supporting upgrades or repairs
  • Proper fuel requirements
  • Follow-up inspections or tuning revisions

Failure to follow recommendations may result in damage, drivability problems, or component failure.

Beyond Performance Tuning is not responsible for damage caused by failure to follow post-service instructions or recommendations.

Test Driving & Verification

Customer authorizes Beyond Performance Tuning employees to operate and road test the vehicle as necessary for diagnostics, tuning, calibration, repair verification, and safety checks.

Deposits, Payments, & Storage

Deposits may be required for appointments, custom fabrication, engine builds, or special-order parts.

Deposits are non-refundable once parts are ordered or work has begun.

Final payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Vehicles left unpaid or abandoned may be subject to storage fees and mechanic’s lien rights under Georgia law.

Limited Warranty & Liability

Unless otherwise stated in writing:

  • Warranty applies only to labor directly performed by Beyond Performance Tuning
  • No warranty is provided on customer-supplied parts
  • Warranty does not cover racing use, abuse, neglect, overheating, improper tuning changes, or unrelated component failures

To the fullest extent permitted under Georgia law, Beyond Performance Tuning shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from services performed or parts installed.

Any claim related to services performed shall be limited to the amount paid for the specific service involved.

Nothing in this agreement waives rights that cannot legally be waived under Georgia law.
