Beyond Performance Tuning

Vehicle Tuning Intake & Service Agreement

Welcome to Beyond Performance Tuning.

Before we begin, we just need to confirm a few things about your vehicle and explain how the tuning process works. This helps us:

  • Tune your vehicle safely
  • Avoid surprises
  • Explain timelines
  • Protect your vehicle
  • Make sure expectations are clear

Most customers complete this in under 2 minutes.

How Performance Tuning Works

Performance tuning changes how your vehicle operates compared to factory settings.

This may:

  • Increase performance
  • Increase stress on components
  • Trigger warning lights during adaptation
  • Affect manufacturer warranty coverage
  • Change drivability characteristics

These are normal considerations with performance tuning.

Vehicle Readiness

To safely tune your vehicle, we need to confirm it is mechanically ready.

Your vehicle should:

  • Not have active misfires
  • Not have major fluid leaks
  • Not have unresolved check engine lights
  • Not have overheating issues
  • Be up to date on maintenance
  • Be properly configured for installed parts

Please list any known issues below.

If Your Vehicle Needs Repairs First

Sometimes a vehicle may not be ready for tuning due to mechanical, electrical, or configuration issues.

If this happens:

  • Tuning may be paused
  • Diagnostic time may be required
  • Your deposit may be applied toward time spent diagnosing the issue and addressing related problems

This helps protect both the customer and the vehicle.

Previously Tuned Vehicles

Vehicles that have been previously tuned may require additional time due to:

  • Unknown base files
  • Stacked calibrations
  • Incomplete return-to-stock files
  • Communication issues
  • Compatibility differences

These situations are common and manageable but may require additional troubleshooting.

Tune Scope, Warning Lights, and Setup Changes

Your tune is built specifically for your vehicle’s current configuration at the time of service.

Because tuning changes how vehicle systems operate, some temporary warning lights or fault codes may occur during or immediately after the tuning process. These are commonly cleared during service and do not always indicate a mechanical problem.

If changes are made after tuning, a retune or additional adjustments may be required. This includes:

  • Intake changes
  • Exhaust changes
  • Turbocharger or supercharger changes
  • Fuel injector changes
  • Fuel pump upgrades
  • Flex fuel additions
  • Intercooler upgrades
  • Engine modifications
  • Transmission modifications
  • Boost control changes

Diagnosing persistent or new codes after the vehicle leaves may require additional diagnostic time.

Service Time & Vehicle Availability

Most tuning services are completed the same day. However, in some cases additional time may be needed to safely complete your vehicle.

This may include:

  • Obtaining stock, recovery, or base files
  • Retrieving files from prior tuners or software providers
  • Troubleshooting ECU or TCU communication issues
  • Recovering from read/write interruptions
  • Diagnosing wiring, voltage, or module communication issues
  • Verifying proper operation after tuning
  • Waiting on replacement modules or programming access

If needed, your vehicle may need to remain with Beyond Performance Tuning for multiple days.

These situations are uncommon but may occur depending on the vehicle and software.

ECU / TCU Recovery & Replacement

Very rarely, some vehicles may require ECU or TCU recovery during the tuning process. This can occur due to prior tuning, communication interruptions, software compatibility issues, or module faults.

If this happens, Beyond Performance Tuning may need to:

  • Perform ECU/TCU recovery attempts
  • Obtain recovery or replacement files
  • Replace the ECU or TCU if necessary
  • Program the replacement module
  • Perform immobilizer matching
  • Write VIN data
  • Perform coding or relearn procedures
  • Program or reprogram vehicle keys

Replacement modules may take days or weeks to arrive.

If an ECU, TCU, or related control module becomes unusable, the customer’s deposit will be applied toward recovery and/or replacement attempts. This may include replacement modules, programming, coding, immobilizer setup, key programming, diagnostic time, labor, and related expenses.

Additional work beyond the deposit amount may be required depending on the situation.

Deposits, Warranty, and Service Agreement

A deposit is required to reserve your appointment and is applied toward the final invoice.

The deposit:

  • Reserves your appointment time
  • Is non-refundable once scheduled
  • May be applied toward diagnostic or recovery work
  • May be forfeited for missed appointments or late cancellations

If you are not satisfied within 30 days, Beyond Performance Tuning may review the concern and, at its discretion, restore the original file and issue a refund minus the deposit and any labor, diagnostic, or recovery time already performed.

Performance tuning may affect manufacturer warranty coverage and emissions compliance. Beyond Performance Tuning does not guarantee warranty coverage after tuning. The customer is responsible for emissions compliance.

By continuing, you acknowledge that performance tuning involves risk. You voluntarily accept those risks and agree to release Beyond Performance Tuning from claims arising from tuning services, including claims based on ordinary negligence to the fullest extent permitted by Georgia law.

Liability, if any, is limited to the amount paid for the tuning service.

I have read and understand the Beyond Performance Tuning service agreement above and agree to proceed.
