What is Bench Tuning?

Bench tuning is the process of removing the ECU from the vehicle in order to directly read and write files on the computer.

Many vehicles can be tuned through the OBD port, but occasionally, we must remove the computer and create a direct connection.

For our local customers who require a bench tune, we will:

  1. Remove the ECU
  2. Read the computer
  3. Create a tuning file
  4. Write the file to your ECU
  5. Return & install the ECU

For customers outside of our service area (we service Savannah, GA through Jacksonville, FL), we offer bench tuning by mail.* The customer removes the ECU and ships it to us, we tune the computer, and we ship it back for the customer to install. The ECU will come back fully tuned with no additional devices or files for the customer to install. Just put the computer right back where you found it.

If you are interested in sending us your ECU, please contact us with your vehicle information and we will get back to you shortly. Please note- we do not share the shipping address unless we have personally spoken with the customer.

*While not all ECUs must be removed in order to be tuned, all ECUs can be tuned after they are removed from the vehicle. Therefore, even if your vehicle could be tuned through the OBD port, you can send us your ECU for a bench tune if you are outside of our service area.
